Broker Marketing Representative
Responsibilities
Summary:
Assist the Marketing Manager in growing the public, truck, and/or alternative risk (captive) marketing segments. Have a defined set of objectives related to the growth of an existing book of business, including new business submissions, renewing existing business, and cultivating profitable new agency relationships.
- New business production, including generating new submissions and establishing new agency relationships
- Work with an agency base to renew existing business
- Educate new and existing agents on National Interstate’s product offerings
- Create/develop new marketing materials and ideas to generate new business
- Handle special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, or 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- P&C License required, or must be willing to obtain within first 90 days of employment
- Excellent oral and written communicator
- Ability to exert influence, both internally and with external brokers and agents, is a critical skill in this position
- Comfortable presenting in front of groups and speaking in meetings
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet skills are required
- Ability to apply common sense and problem solving skills during situations that often have no readily identifiable and/or concrete solution
- Must be able to analyze sales situations with several variables and decide on the best course of action
