Distracted driving is a significant and growing concern on our roads today. With the increasing use of smartphones and other in-car technologies, drivers are more prone to distractions than ever before. This issue not only endangers the lives of drivers but also poses a serious risk to passengers, pedestrians and other road users. In fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), distracted driving claimed 3,275 lives in 2023 alone.
Distracted driving can take many forms, including texting, talking on the phone, using a GPS, eating or even adjusting the radio. Each of these activities diverts the driver's attention away from the primary task of driving, leading to slower reaction times and an increased likelihood of accidents.
